How to Delete Your Data

You have the right to delete your personal data at any time. We provide two easy methods:

Method 1: Delete from the App (Recommended)

Open Settings

Open the OK Today app and tap the settings icon (gear) in the top right corner.

Find Delete Account

Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings page and tap "Delete Account".

Confirm Deletion

Read the warning message and tap "Delete My Account" to confirm. You may need to re-authenticate.

Done

Your account and all data will be immediately removed. You'll be signed out automatically.

Method 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you can't access the app or prefer to request deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to privacy@okaytoday.org
  2. Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  3. Include the email address associated with your OK Today account
  4. We'll verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

Location Data (if enabled) GPS coordinates and addresses captured during check-ins Immediate
Device Information Device tokens and registration Immediate
Push Notification Data FCM tokens and notification preferences Immediate
Deleting Location Data Only: You don't need to delete your entire account to remove location data. Go to Settings > Privacy > Delete Location History to remove all location data while keeping your account active. Location data is also automatically deleted after 7 days.
Note about subscriptions: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel active Google Play subscriptions. Please cancel your subscription in the Google Play Store before deleting your account to avoid continued billing.

Data That May Be Retained

Some data may be retained for limited periods due to legal or operational requirements:

*About email hash: We store a cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of your email address to prevent users from deleting and re-registering to get unlimited free trials. This hash is one-way and cannot be reversed to obtain your actual email address. After 1 year, the hash expires and you would be eligible for a new trial if you return.

Retained data is anonymized or encrypted and cannot be used to identify you.

What Happens After Deletion

Warning: Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
  • Your account cannot be recovered
  • Your emergency contacts will no longer receive alerts
  • Any active subscription benefits will be lost
  • You'll need to create a new account to use OK Today again
  • Important: If you re-register with the same email within 1 year, you will not receive another free trial (you can still subscribe)
